Project overview
In this headquarters project by Oğuz Bayazıt Mimarlık, the mirror stretch ceiling and LED lighting components were engineered as a single system. Stretch wall and backlit stretch ceiling applications gave the corporate space a stronger representative and lighting language.
Case study
A mirror surface, backlit stretch ceiling, stretch wall and LED lighting all had to be resolved together in the same space. The most common failure in this kind of work is streaking or banding caused by getting the distance between membrane and light source, LED density, or colour temperature wrong. When the surface and the lighting come from two separate suppliers, responsibility gets stuck between them the moment something goes wrong.
We engineered the membrane and the light as a single system; because our LED and automation line is in-house, we determined light-box depth, module density and colour temperature together, matched to the surface character. The mirror, the backlit ceiling and the stretch wall were all installed by the same team.
Different surface characters across the corporate space now speak in a single lighting language. For the client, it also meant a single point of contact and a single point of accountability.
